Energy Assessment Package

All new-build dwellings require a SAP report to secure a Building Warrant and an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) upon project completion. As new-build regulations evolve with more stringent targets and increasingly complex requirements, I aim to make the process of achieving compliance with Part L and Section 6: Energy, and obtaining your EPC, as smooth as possible.

To guide you through this process, I provide a comprehensive Energy Assessment Package that supports you from initial design and Building Warrant compliance through to final project completion.

The Energy Assessment Package is broken down into three stages:

1. Estimating SAP

Ideally involving early input at the design stage, this consultation allows you to discuss and review multiple options. You can adjust various elements of the assessment and see the expected results. You’ll receive a concise summary of each option, including a breakdown of key components and outcomes, helping to clarify the benefits of different designs and giving you the freedom to decide how best to proceed.

2. Design / Building Warrant SAP

At this stage, I take your preferred option from the Estimating SAP and provide a detailed summary, full calculation report, and all associated documents required by Building Control for Part L or Section 6: Energy. This includes any bespoke U-value or thermal bridging calculations undertaken. I understand that changes often occur during the course of a project, and I allow for suitable minor revisions within the initial cost. It’s encouraged to keep me informed of any updates so I can amend the assessment and ensure ongoing compliance.

3. As-Built SAP & EPC

The final stage takes place near project completion. I’ll ask you to provide a simple statement confirming that all on-site conditions reflect the submitted information, along with the latest drawings. I will then update the SAP to confirm continued compliance. After a final summary review, I’ll issue the As-Built SAP Report and the EPC for the dwelling.

If required, I can also provide Sustainability Labels for Section 7; however, this service incurs an additional fee due to the extra information required.
